Jason is an adorable, cheeky chappie – a black bear, who also happens to be a pure registered Fell. He is rising four years. He is one of the three ponies that we took from a Cornwall based Fell Stud last year when one of the owners sadly died leaving a great number of ponies to be dispersed.
Jason was already really well handled when he came here because he is a really good example of the breed and so had travelled to attend a number of shows. He has got the wonderful, peaceful and trustworthy Fell nature but has a huge character that makes everyone love him instantly. When he matures fully he should be up to carrying any reasonably light weight adult and if he is like his Mum, Jasmine (who we have just found a wonderful home for) he is likely to become a wonderful riding pony and to be bombproof.
Jason would be great to show in hand, would be a joy for anyone to own. He is fully broken now and riding out well. He is ready to find that 5* home for life.
A couple of months ago (October 2014) Jason and Ruby went off on loan to a gorgeous family with nine year old twins living just outside Penryn. There was always a chance that Ruth and her family might want to own Jason but they wanted to try out horse ownership for size in the first instance.
Well, at the beginning of December, Ruth decided that Jason was the pony for their family; they are enchanted with his cheeky chappie nature and just how good he is in every way. So Jason has found a permanent home – a great first home for a pony starting out on his adult life.
Ruby’s future remains uncertain – she is loved where she is and will stay there until the end of March but probably will be too small ultimately for Ruth’s fast-growing nine year old twins
